"Declare a holy fast; call a sacred assembly. Summon the elders and all who live in the land to the house of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord." Joel 1:14
As a church we began a 21 day fast today, a time to humble ourselves individually and corporately as we seek God's face. Our pastor asked us to give something up that holds a high importance in our lives, something that would take a sacrifice. So, Kenny and I have decided to give up Diet Coke (well, it's actually called Coke Light here) and all other sodas for the next three weeks. For those of you who know us well, that's a pretty big deal! :) We are expectant as we wait upon the Lord and seek to follow His will.
Joel 1:14 says it all, doesn't it? May God's will be evident for your church, yourselves, and the people of South Africa during and after these 21 days.
